A special music concert was hosted on the evening of December 10 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up. 

The concert gathered China’s celebrated musicians and pop singers who have witnessed the huge development of pop music in the country. It will air on Dragon TV on the evening of December 18.

The concert also honored artists who have made big contributions to the domestic music industry. Among them are famous vocal artists Zhu Fengbo, Zheng Xulan, Zhu Mingying and Shen Xiaocen.

They shared stories about the influence of the great drive in China on their own careers and lives. 

Mainland pop singer Sun Nan, who received the award for most popular singer, said he will continue to sing for the country and its people. 

Singers of different generations including Li Lingyu, Zhou Bingqian and Wang Xiaokun presented their representative songs. 

The concert also invited renowned Chinese conductor Cao Peng, dancing artist Huang Doudou, Peking Opera performer Wang Peiyu and Olympic gold medal winner Zou Shiming to tell their own stories related with China’s reform and opening-up.
