'Rocky' spin-off to box its way onto China's screens

“Creed II,” a spin-off of the award-winning “Rocky” film series, will box its way into cinemas across China on January 4.

Starring Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan, the boxing film is about the new challenge facing heavyweight contender Adonis Creed. Creed, under the tutelage of Rocky Balboa, has to pull up his slacks for a powerful opponent.

Intensive boxing exercises and fight scenes are featured in the movie. Additionally, it explores Creed’s emotional world which is influenced by his growth experience and family.

The “Rocky” film series has a big fan base in China. Producers of the film say that it maintains Rocky’s never-yielding spirit and depicts a new legend and hero in the new era.
