Oscar-winning 'Bohemian Rhapsody' to be released on Chinese mainland

The Oscar-winning biographical film “Bohemian Rhapsody” will hit cinemas on Chinese mainland on March 22.

The film is centered around the life of Freddie Mercury — British rock band Queen’s lead singer — from his joining the band until their infamous Live Aid performance.

The film will present both an IMAX version and 4D version in theaters, taking audiences back to the impressive rise of the group and the breathtaking scenes of their Live Aid performance.

Special screenings were held over the weekend at around 100 IMAX cinemas around the country. Many movie fans were moved by the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll in the film.

The film won four awards at the recent 91st Academy Awards, including Best Actor, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing.
