KT Tunstall was born in 1975 in Edinburgh. Since early childhood, the future singer had an interest in music. She studied piano, then she obtained degree in Drama and Music at the Royal Holloway, University of London.

British singer Kate Victoria Tunstall, famous for her stage name “KT Tunstall,” will perform in Shanghai for the first time in late July. The Ivor Novello-winning, multi-million selling, Grammy-and Mercury-nominated artist will present her new album “WAX.”

Tunstall was born in 1975 in Edinburgh. Since early childhood, the future singer had an interest in music. She studied piano, then she obtained degree in Drama and Music at the Royal Holloway, University of London.

As a singer, Tunstall first came to the public eye in 2004 when she released her debut studio album, “Eye To The Telescope.” It blew up all the British charts and won the Brit Award for Best British Female.

All the while, she worked on developing her music.

Her “Suddenly I See” was featured in several film and TV soundtracks, such as “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Ugly Betty” and “Blind Dating” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

KT Tunstall is also responsible for iconic songs like “Other Side of the World,” “If Only” and “You Will Always Find Me in Your Heart.”

She has released six albums internationally, including “Eye to the Telescope,” “Drastic Fantastic,” “Tiger Suit” and “Invisible Empire.” In 2016 Tunstall released her fifth album “KIN,” marking the start of her trilogy “Soul, Body and Mind.” Her latest album “WAX” has been featured on Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist in a dozen countries worldwide and received critical acclaim from both national publications and specialist music outlets in both the UK and the US.
