Well-known in China thanks to his drama series “We Married As A Job,” co-starring Japanese superstar Aragaki Yui, the 38-year-old artist started his music career with instrumental band Sakerock, where he played the guitar and marimba.

The band released over ten albums before disbanding in 2015.

As a solo artist, Hoshino debuted with his first album “Baka no Uta (A Fool’s Songs)” in 2010.

Later he released “Episode,” “Stranger,” platinum-certified “Yellow Dancer,” which debuted in the Oricon and Billboard Album charts, while his latest album “Pop Virus” went double platinum after only one month after release and topped the Oricon Album charts for four weeks in a row.

The “Koi” singer-songwriter also produced several other popular tracks such as “Drinking Dance,” “Continues,” “SUN,” “Week End” and “Family Song.” The versatile pop star incorporates influences unique to his Japanese upbringing, creating brand-new, cutting-edge sounds and music that continue to shake up the Japanese music scene.
