"I’m CZR II," a variety show that focuses its lens on the growth of China’s original singer-songwriters, is being aired weekly on iQiyi.

The show explores and showcases diverse musical styles live on stage. Eight established singer-songwriters, including Zhang Yixing, Zheng Jun, Chen Li, Huo Zun and Liu Sijian, perform both old and new songs.

With different backgrounds, musical attitudes and aesthetics, their performances provide insight into the charm and diversity of how music can stimulate conversations and bring about changes within society.

These veteran performers will receive challenges from younger singer-songwriters, most of whom have yet launched their careers in the new millennium, serving as a platform to introduce young musicians to a broader audience.

Additionally, singer-songwriters share behind-the-scenes stories and exchange views on song-writing, which they hope will inspire more creative works.

The show’s producers say they aim to demonstrate their passion for music and the spirit of never yielding to propel the development of original music.

Meanwhile, viewers with musical dreams can participate in a short video-selection event on iQiyi’s Vlog application, which enables them to upload their own original songs and interact with their idols.
