New original suspense series debuts on iQiyi

The original suspense series "Crimson River" began airing on iQiyi on Tuesday. Every week, two new episodes will be released.

The 12-episode production is the streaming website's third original suspense series, following "Kidnapping Game" and "The Bad Kids."

Directed by Yang Miao, the series stars Song Yang and Yuan Wenkang as cops who investigate a murder case which is similar to another unsolved case taking place in a small town 20 years earlier.

During the investigation, the cops find that dramatic changes have happened to every person related with the old case.

Compared with traditional suspense shows, the series features poetic scenes and landscapes, as well as local folk culture.
