The navigation management of Suzhou has established a digital archive for the Suzhou section of the Grand Canal for the first time.

It took four months for technicians to complete the aerial and fixed point photography of the Suzhou section.

The digital archive was then compiled by using relevant software, from which the “physiognomic characteristics” of the section of the canal can be seen.

The archive provides powerful big data technical support for the management of the waterway.

As long as the construction coordinates are given, information of water depth, revetment structure and bridge clearance where the construction project is located can be clearly determined. It helps to make approval of construction fast and accurate.
