Top brands strut their latest lines
Shang Xia
Hermès Group’s Shang Xia brand recently released its autumn-winter collection “Revival” at its Huaihai Road flagship store Maison Shang Xia.
The new collection of accessories, jewelry, apparel, handbags, furniture, tableware, teaware and other decorative pieces covers almost all aspects of everyday life.
“Revival” is inspired in part by Fei Er, 7-year-old daughter of Shang Xia founder Jiang Qiong’er, who inspired the creative team with her innocence and naïveté, vividly depicted in classic Shang Xia pieces. The circle of life and a child’s love for art are clearly seen in some of the garments in the range.
The little girl also all shines out from another new series “Mama,” where her picture of her smiling, crown-wearing, dog-walking mother embellishes some of the creations.
Founded by designer Jiang, Shang Xia mixes the past and modern, tradition and trends by combining contemporary design with fine craftsmanship, Chinese culture and high-quality standards.
Swatch
The Swiss watchmaker Swatch recently unveiled its BIG BOLD collection of six new watches at an exhibition in the M50 Art Park.
Inspired by urban streetwear, each BIG BOLD watch boasts a striking watchcase that highlights big dimensions and 3D visuals.
All six new models have a curvaceous 47mm diameter watch head be-domed with slightly curved glass.
Glow-in-the-dark arrow-shaped hands contrast with the 3D prints on the dial and strap, exploding and exploring the big personalities of the watches, while the subtly toned backgrounds flatter to deceive.
The exhibition blends big color blocks with graffiti in a simple industrial style with everything bold, bold, bold ... the very BIG BOLD trend Swatch aspires to.
The graffiti will be grabbed by Swatch to become more than 300 unique canvas bags, special gifts for Swatch Club members in four stores: Wangfujing Street in Beijing, The Peace Hotel and 373 Nanjing Road East in Shanghai and Grandview Mall in Guangzhou.
Jimmy Choo
Handmade women’s shoemaker Jimmy Choo launched a new Capsule bag collection co-designed by the brand’s creative director Sandra Choi and pop star Victoria Song.
Using Song’s favorite colors black and white, red and pink, the collection is all handmade with graffiti elements, bright colors and sparkling coatings, which shows a mindset of confidence and pioneering spirit.
The collection design features the image of “Xiao Ba,” the star’s pet pig, and graphics of high-heeled shoes for beauty, a pentagram for career and a diamond for love.
“Xiao Ba is just like millions of ordinary girls, who are chasing their dreams,” Song said at the launch ceremony in Shanghai.
A slogan hidden under the bag cover, “Dare to stand out,” is the declaration of brave girls with restless, youthful spirit, always in search of new horizons.
The new collection will be revealed at Jimmy Choo’s Shanghai Hang Lung Plaza store and online shop as well as in a mini program on WeChat.
The Beijing SKP store, Shanghai International Financial Center store and Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu store will be follow in the summer.
