Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Guokr, an innovative science and culture online education platform in China, have jointly launched an innovative botany-themed fun seminar at the Suzhou Marriott Hotel Taihu Lake in Jiangsu Province.

Through engaging content and interactive experiences, parents and children embark on a fascinating journey of discovery into the world of plants, uncovering new knowledge about plants while also spending quality time together. In addition, parents and children can learn and bond together through Marriott Hotels’ “M Passport” program.

“As the flagship brand of Marriott International, Marriott Hotels continues to pioneer new experiences to help guests relax and unwind, enrich their knowledge and inspire new ways of thinking,” said Winkie Wong, senior director of Brand and Marketing, Asia Pacific, Marriott International, Inc.

“Guokr’s influence in the field of popular science, along with their commitment to promoting educational content, aligns perfectly with Marriott Hotels’ ‘Let Your Mind Travel’ brand campaign. This exciting session allows us to present popular science in an engaging and innovative format, encouraging guests to broaden their horizons and develop their creative thinking during travel.”

The botany-themed fun seminar brings together leading minds in the field of popular plant science, including professors from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, members of the Songshuhui — a not-for-profit association that brings together young science communicators — and leading Guokr botanist blogger Gu Yourong. Especially created for parents and children to learn together, the seminar encourages families to explore the world of flowers and plants through explanations, quizzes, interactive experiments and more.

In addition to providing guests with an exceptional stay, Marriott Hotels actively creates new activities for family travelers to enjoy during their holiday, in order to inspire new experiences and family connections as part of the travel experience.

The “M Passport” program was launched this summer to encourage children aged 4-12 to participate in healthy activities during their stay. With the “M Passport” program, kids can learn new things, express themselves, make friends from around the world and create lasting travel memories – all while developing “a brilliant body,” “a brilliant mind” and “a brilliant heart.”
