Taste Paradise serves up an ideal dish for those with a love of Cantonese cuisine in the premium neighborhood along Nanjing Road W.

Situated on the fifth floor of Plaza 66 Mall, overlooking the urban landscape, the main dining hall is impressively decorated to cater for specific customers in the area’s exciting banquet scene. A refined 1500-square-meter Chinese restaurant, for a business dinner or a family get-together, also ensures a satisfying lunch meal in the light-filled dining space. The two-floor restaurant features a main dining hall and 12 private rooms, accommodating more than 200 seats.

Taste Paradise got its fame in Singapore’s China Town opening as a casual Cantonese eatery in 2006. It elevated into a premium restaurant specializing in Cantonese delicacies inside ION Orchard. It’s the third brand to open in China from the Singapore-based Paradise Group, but its first venture opening inside Plaza 66.

The two-floor restaurant features a main dining hall overlooking the urban landscape.

It follows the launch of the Paradise Dynasty, which is known for its legendary xiaolongbao and Paradise Classic that is dedicated to Nanyang-style Chinese cuisine.

Taste Paradise features an extensive menu of elaborately prepared Chinese creations peppered with a touch of sophistication. Connoisseurs of Cantonese cuisine can delight in the famous Cantonese BBQ selection, authentic soups including classic “Buddha jump over the wall” in pot, braised whole dried “Yoshihama” abalone, braised deluxe fish maw in abalone sauce and different kinds of high-quality seafood dishes.

However, with all the premium Chinese ingredients available here, it doesn’t mean this restaurant only offers a fine dining experience. I paid a visit during lunch time and had a comfortable food experience prepared by Taste Paradise.

The restaurant features an extensive menu of Cantonese creations.

Among the orders, mostly composed by dim sums, the highlights include stir fried carrot cake with XO sauce, crispy BBQ honey pork bun, steamed truffle mushroom crystal dumpling, the carrot cake served in rectangular slabs, stir-fried with eggs and other seasonings. This is a popular dish from Singapore that takes special techniques to perfect.

The poached rice with seafood in lobster broth is another recommended item here, yet in the warmer months ahead, it might be a bit heavy for most customers.
