Looking for the best of Spanish culture and hospitality from your restaurant? Then look no further than Tomatito at their new location inside the Infinitus Mall in Xintiandi area.

Spanish chef Willy Trullas Moreno first opened the doors of Tomatito in 2014 as the casual little brother of El Willy.

Bold, colorful and funky, Tomatito quickly gained popularity for its delicious tapas and pleasant ambience.

The restaurant’s new location allows a spacious terrace overlooking the urban landscape.

The decor still retains its relaxing, funky elements inspired by the Spanish bars of the 1980s.

There is a chilled and happy atmosphere at Tomatito thanks to the colorful interior and Latin music.

Tomatitio has moved to a new location with a spacious terrace overlooking the urban landscape.

As a tapas restaurant, Tomatito is ideal for those who want to chill with a good Spanish wine, cocktail or cold beer accompanied by several sharing plates.

Creativity doesn’t compromise the authenticity here.

The menu includes everything from traditional croquettes, baby squid, Spanish omelet, gazpacho cold soup to more complex plates that justify the phrase “haute cuisine in miniature.”

It’s recommended to try out the diner’s new creations under the “Montaditos” (snacks to start).

There is a personal twist and a new presentation in some of the tapas, such as explosiones de atun and explosion de queso de cabra, trufa y miel.

Atlantic octopus, smoked potato and paprika sauce

The first tapas I tried had a distinct Japanese touch by using seared tuna with wasabi cream on seaweed and crispy rice explosiones.

The second was my favorite. The strong flavored goat cheese with truffle and honey inside a macaroon. The filling provided a salty contrast in each crunchy and chewy bite. The “macaroons” were the best orders of the night.

The team works with local producers to retain quality and freshness by importing from Spain, like its famous jamon iberico and seafood.

Besides the small bites, opt for live seafood or charcoal grilled beef for mains.

I enjoyed the Atlantic octopus, smoked potato and paprika sauce and fresh mussels in white wine and cream with garlic, herbs and chilli. Both are perfect for sharing with a glass of Spanish white, a true Mediterranean way to dine during the summer time.

Tomatito also offers a lunch deal at 128 yuan per person that includes two courses, a soft drink and a dessert.
