Magical banquet served at Disney restaurant

Disney’s latest magical movie, “Maleficent 2” has taken theaters by storm. Fans have fallen in love with Maleficent all over again; with her strength of heart, sharp tongue and dazzling green eyes, she has ensnared the hearts of audiences throughout China. To celebrate the release of this fiendishly magical movie, a dark and luxurious Maleficent-themed banquet arrived at Shanghai Disney Resort. 

The banquet was the first-ever immersive themed dining experience at Aurora. Located on the 8th floor of the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, the Aurora restaurant provides panoramic views, an atmosphere of exceptional elegance and a selection of outstanding cuisine.

The name of the restaurant connotes beauty and elegance synonymous with Princess Aurora, the titular character from the classic Disney story, "Sleeping Beauty," and also the Northern Lights, adding a stylish and romantic ambience to the restaurant.

Guests at the event indulged in a sumptuous self-service buffet, which maintained the consistent high quality of five-star dishes and ingredients always found at Aurora. In addition to a variety of sashimi and seafood, barbecued meats, freshly-prepared 100-day grain-fed steak, and lamb chops, there were also unique and exquisite dainty Maleficent-themed desserts and delicacies.

Guests in attendance of this special banquet were able to dress up in elegant Halloween costumes befitting of the magic and enchantment of the evening. The highlight of the night came when they had the chance to meet the Mistress of Evil herself, with photo opportunities and interactions with Maleficent inspiring awe among the guests. While rarely seen in the park, Maleficent’s appearance came as a surprise to the guests as she swooped in to pay a visit.
