Donald Duck faints on duty

The video footage posted by a visitor shows Donald Duck after falling down on a parade vehicle during the midday outdoor parade show on August 4.

Donald Duck came a cropper during a parade at Shanghai Disneyland last Friday.

The city's scorching weather shows an employee dressed up as the famous cartoon character suffering from the heat, with video footage being posted by a visitor.

The employee fainted during the outdoor parade show around noon, and was taken away, still wearing the Donald Duck outfit, by other Disney cast members to receive treatment, said a witness, who described herself in an online post as Sister Sunney.

"The weather is so unbearable that even Donald is hit by a stroke," she said on her microblog on Sina.com.

The tweet has led to hundreds of replies and retweets, many of them praising the Disney employee's devotion.

The theme park said on Tuesday that Donald "took a break" during the parade on August 4, but he is now greeting guests in the parade again.
