Three suspects captured in raid at sex clubs
Police raided two prostitution businesses in downtown Shanghai this morning and have detained three suspects who were allegedly the organizers.
The illegal businesses were located on Zhongshan Road (S-2) and Tianyaoqiao Road. The investigation started last month when they got some clues, according to the police.
The two “clubs,” seemed to be out of business but actually hosted prostitution service inside with many security staff and secret doors, police said.
In the raid this morning, police discovered about 200,000 yuan (US$30,000) in cash with a number of people involved in the business.
The three alleged organizers were caught in other locations with 4.95 million yuan (US$742,000) in cash and a large number of book-keeping documents found, police said.
