Police officers with their dogs on patrol at Changshuo Night Market in suburban Huojian Village in the Pudong New Area last night. Patrolling with police dogs in neighborhoods and at Metro stations considered vulnerable to thefts, robberies and burglaries has helped to improve the safety of such areas, police said. In the past two months, Pudong police said they had received 50 percent fewer emergency calls from people regarding these types of crime.
