Shanghai Charity Foundation announced on Saturday a program supporting charity organizations which work in tandem with companies in CSR activities.

A total of 30 million yuan (US$4.5 million) has been pledged to the program which from Saturday calls for submission of projects to apply for the fund.

After a selection, 100 projects will be funded with 1 million, 500,000, 300,000 or 150,000 yuan, and 10 organizations will be further supported with a “growth fund,” the foundation said.

Interested charity organizations can look up for more information, available only in Chinese, at http://www.scf.org.cn/csjjh/n2740/n2744/u1ai174435.html and submit an application.

Since 2008, Shanghai Charity Foundation has funded about 700 charity projects with over 100 million yuan through its program supporting organizations which focus on providing social services.

The projects funded were a witness of the evolving charity scene in the city, starting from supporting individuals in need but gradually covering services addressing education, environmental protection, community building among others.
