Ying Yong talks with Evonik chairman for stronger support

Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met with Christian Kullman, chairman of Evonik Industries AG and a member of the National Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai, on September 5.

Ying said Shanghai is working hard to build an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center and a cosmopolitan city by 2020, realize the core functions of a science and innovation city by 2030 and build an outstanding global city by 2040.

He said he would like to hear advice from the council’s members to help Shanghai achieve this goal. As China’s biggest economic center, Shanghai has been unfalteringly pushing forward the economic globalization and creating a better business environment for domestic and international enterprises.

Kullman said as a member of the advisory council, Evonik Industries will support Shanghai’s efforts to become an outstanding global city. It was wise for Evonik to locate in Shanghai. They will expand investment in Shanghai, cooperate and exchange technologies with local enterprises.
