Leading HK developer expresses faith in Shanghai
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met with Ronnie Chan, chairman of Hong Kong Hang Lung Properties Limited, last Friday.
Ying said a group of Hong Kong enterprises such as Hang Lung have made important contributions to Shanghai’s economy since China’s reform and opening up in the 1980s.
Hang Lung Group is experienced in operating business complexes and is a good example for Shanghai’s building sector, the Mayor Ying said. Shanghai welcomes domestic and international enterprises to increase their investment.
He also said under the leadership of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Shanghai is taking a leading role in nationwide reforms by building internationally influential business circles and brands. Shanghai is working hard to become an international consumer city by 2020, he added.
Chan said Shanghai is one of the world's most attractive cosmopolitan cities, with a good business environment that endorses Hang Lung’s faith in further developing its market in China.
Hang Lung will increase investment in Shanghai, and contribute more to Shanghai’s economic prosperity, he said.
