Folk and comic artist Luo Xixian displayed manuscripts of his new book to the public for the first time last month at the Sisyphe Bookstore in Joy City.
The book, which covers the vicissitudes of life along Suzhou Creek, will be formally released in October.
Luo said it will be the first of the five works paying tribute to Jing’an, where he was born, grew up and now lives. Future works will look at historical figures, the Communist Party’s footprints, cultural facets and distinctive buildings in Jing’an.
