Comedy festival kicks off at Shanghai landmark TV tower
The landmark Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Pudong New Area is hosting a comedy festival, featuring 50 acclaimed comedians from more than 20 countries who are ready to bring joy and laughter to visitors.
They will interact with audiences and stage parades in the five-day event opening on Friday, presenting the essence of world comedy art.
When night falls, a lighting ceremony will be held at the city square of the tower and these comedians will bring three performances, each lasting 20 minutes, every night during the festival. The square is free of admission. Close-up interaction will be featured along with the light show.
The performances will start on 7:15pm, 8:15pm and 9:15pm.
The festival is jointly organized by the tower, the American Event Management Institute and the Edinburgh International Festival.
