Experts share wisdom on children's development

More than 300 experts from 14 countries gathered in Shanghai on Friday to share their experience and ideas on children's growth and development at the 11th Shanghai International Forum for Children.

As this event was focused on the theme of children's welfare and family development, some Chinese experts called for legislation on children's welfare as there is no such a law yet.

Liu Jitong, a professor of public health at Peking University, pointed out that though China have made great progress in the area, more efforts are needed. He added that some of the work relate to children's welfare was actually done by the women's federation.

Aiming at "all for children and for all about children," the event has been held annually by Shanghai Women's Federation, Shanghai Municipal Women and Children Committee, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Fudan University in the past 10 years and had hundreds of experts from home and abroad talking on topics regarding every aspect of children.
