A few victims in a fraud case targeting older citizens this summer get their money back from the police on Tuesday. Fengxian police were alarmed last June when dozens of seniors appeared in a bank on the same day to withdraw money allegedly to invest in a company. The company which claimed to be seeking funds for being listed on the stock market turned out to be a fraud. Over 480,000 yuan (US$73,000) was recovered for the victims by the police. Fengxian police said they have recovered 16.53 million yuan from various theft, robbery and fraud cases so far this year, equivalent to 41 percent of all money lost.
