Shen Min, president of the Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, speaks at the forum.

A forum was held on Thursday to inspire overseas Chinese to grasp opportunities in Shanghai’s establishment as a global center for scientific and technological innovation.

Shen Min, president of the Shanghai Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, said at the forum that overseas Chinese were indispensable talent in the development of China and Shanghai as they possessed both domestic and international networks, wealth and wisdom.

She hoped they would grasp the opportunity, as China and Shanghai are comprehensively deepening reform, to connect their own careers with the development of China and Shanghai.

More than 100 overseas Chinese also visited the Shanghai Lingang New Overseas Chinese Emerging Industrial Park to see one of the city’s latest platforms to help them realize personal career development.

Shi Xiaolin, a member of the standing committee of the Shanghai Party Committee, said at the banquet that Shanghai hoped overseas Chinese would come to Shanghai to realize their “Chinese dream” and contribute to the development of the city.
