Acclaimed Fudan University professor and famous botanist Zhong Yang died in a traffic accident in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, on Sunday. He was 53.

Acclaimed Fudan University professor and famous botanist Zhong Yang died in a traffic accident in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, on Sunday. He was 53.
Dr. Zhong was on his way to a local college in Ordos to give a lecture when the accident happened between 5 and 6am, thepaper.cn reported.
The report quoted local traffic police who said that the car Dr. Zhong was in collided with a forklift. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Dr. Zhong was the Dean of the Graduate School of Fudan University and a distinguished professor in biology. He made great progress in bioinformatics and evolutionary biology.
