Botanic garden to host National Day holiday events

Shanghai Chenshan Botanic Garden in Songjiang District will host a variety of fun activities including a sunflower and succulent exhibition, a concert, and a pumpkin carriage parade for the upcoming National Day holiday.
The garden will be turned into a golden flower sea featuring about 10,000 square meters of around 20 varieties of sunflower.
About 2,000 pots of succulents of nearly 200 varieties, including some rare varieties imported from overseas, will be on display.
Huge pumpkins, rarely seen vegetables such as snake gourd and swan gourd, and 180 chili varieties will be exhibited as well.
Rock, folk, popular and saxophone music will be played with the staging of an international music carnival through the week. Musicians from home and abroad will stage performances in different areas of the garden.
On top of all that, a fun pepper competition inviting tourists to try the spiciest chili in the world will be held, and a pumpkin carriage parade will be staged near the Quarry Garden.
