Shanghai Party Secretary Han Zheng met with Edwin Lee, mayor of San Francisco, and his delegation yesterday.

Han welcomed Lee’s visit on behalf of Shanghai people. He said it has been 30 years that Shanghai established twin city tie with San Francisco. The two cities now have close collaboration in trade, cultural industries and sports businesses. Han expressed his hope for furthering the cooperation between the two cities, and the young people of both countries can have more friendly exchanges.

Lee congratulated Shanghai on its achievements in recent years. He said the twin city tie is highly valued in the United States. He would like the two cities to further expand their cooperation and exchanges, especially in cultural industries, sports, and environment protection.

Zhuge Yujie, secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Committee, also attended the meeting.
