Performing artists and experts gathered today at a forum during the ongoing 19th Shanghai International Arts Festival to exchange ideas on the new marketing and public relations strategies for the promotion of traditional Chinese opera.
Among the speakers were celebrated Peking Opera performers Shang Changrong and Wei Haimin, Kunqu Opera artist Gu Haohao, scriptwriter Wang Renjie and traditional theater critic Jin Fei.
They shared their experiences and expertise in preserving and reforming traditional Chinese theater as well as telling Chinese stories to a global audience.
