Shanghai mayor meets Hong Kong guest

Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met William Tak-Lun Lee, president of Shanghai Fraternity Association Hong Kong Limited, and his delegation on Monday.

Ying said Shanghai is implementing the 19th CPC National Congress’s spirit and working hard to build itself into an international center of economy, finance, trade and shipping by 2020. Meanwhile, it will speed up its steps in creating a globally influential science and technology innovation center.

In addition, Shanghai is striving to build its Free Trade Zone as a bridgehead of promoting the Belt and Road initiative, Ying added. He expressed his hope that Shanghai will have more collaboration with Hong Kong and more Hong Kong industrial and commercial professionals would come and work in Shanghai.

Lee said the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress is inspiring. Shanghai Fraternity Association Hong Kong will further the cooperation with Shanghai.

He Jing, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., and Shi Xiaolin, minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shanghai Committee, also attended the meeting.
