Professors and businessmen honored at Fudan fund
Tencent Chairman Ma Huateng was awarded on Saturday by the Fudan Premium Fund of Management for his outstanding contribution in enterprise management.
Ma was honored as he has led his company to tremendously change the communication way and lifestyle of hundreds of millions of people with social networking platform, information, entertainment and financing, said the fund committee.
He has also initiated the Internet plus and decentralization strategies to make Tencent an open platform and has led partners and new business starters to develop rapidly and helped all industries with digital transformation and upgrading, it added.
Wang Zhongtuo, professor of Dalian University of Technology and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, won the Fudan Management Lifetime Achievement Award for laying foundation for China’s system engineering and management disciplines.
Fan Shenggen, director of the International Food Policy Research Institute, Peng Xizhe, professor at the School of Social Development and Public Policy of Fudan University, and Wang Puqu, professor from Peking University’s School of Government, shared this year’s Fudan Outstanding Management Science Contribution Award.
Initiated by China’s former vice premier Li Lanqing, the fund has been awarding outstanding scholars and entrepreneurs for 12 years.
Former winners included Ma Yun, chairman of Alibaba, and Liu Chuanzhi, founder of Lenovo.
