Some outstanding choral performances from local groups were given at Shanghai Qizhong Forest Sports City Tennis Center on Sunday as part of the  2017 Shanghai Citizens Art Festival.

The repertoire included the Chinese folk song "Jasmine Flower" as well as poetry recitation. The renowned 92-year-old Chinese conductor Cao Peng led the audience in singing "Ode to Joy" in Chinese and German.

The annual Shanghai Citizens Art Festival is now in its third year, and this year's citywide choral competition and exhibition have seen more than 1,000 choral groups take part. It has become a popular platform for local citizens to showcase their singing talent.
