Golden glow lights up city center
Winter is expected to descend on the city this week with a new cold front, bringing with it some pollution, from the north, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau. Today the temperature is forecast to range from 8 to 11 degrees Celsius.
There will be light haze, or moderate pollution, this morning, but air quality will improve later in the day. Tomorrow, the temperature will drop to a high of 9 degrees and a low of 5.
Although Wednesday will be sunny, the mercury will fall to a low of 3 degrees in downtown areas and will drop to below zero in the countryside. There will be light air pollution.
On Thursday and Friday, the temperature will range between 5 and 13 degrees. According to weather records from 1981 to 2015, winter on average descends on December 3 in Shanghai.
