Shanghai mayor meets French minister of economy and finance
Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong met French Minister of the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire and his delegation on December 2.
Ying congratulated Maire on the successful closing and the achievements of the 5th Sino-France Economic and Financial Dialogue. He said the top leaders of China and France have made more and more exchanges and the cooperation between the two countries is ever deepening.
Shanghai is working hard to achieve its goal of building itself into a global center of economy, finance, trade, and shipping center by 2020, Ying said. It is also building its technology and innovation center, he added.
Meanwhile, Shanghai is striving to improve the Free Trade Zone, support the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as expand the country’s share in overseas market, said the mayor.
Shanghai is willing to deepen the cooperation with France in trade, finance, technological innovations, cultural industries, and tourism.
Maire said China is one of the most influential countries in the world, and the dialogue has been very successful, and many results have been achieved. France will support the Belt and Road Initiative, and advance the trade and financial cooperation between the two countries.
