This week's weather will be cool and dry before getting warmer and wet, forecasters say
The weather this week is expected to be cool and dry before getting warmer and wet, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
Today will likely be sunny, with the temperature ranging between 4 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees. Light air pollution, which hit Shanghai last night, will sustain this morning.
It will be cloudy tomorrow. Wednesday and Thursday will be overcast, and the temperature will rise to a low of between 6 and 8 degrees as a warm and wet front approaches, bringing rain on Friday. The temperature on Friday will reach a high of 12 degrees.
Winter officially descended on Shanghai last Tuesday, the first day of five consecutive days with average temperature of below 10 degrees.
This year, Shanghai had a longer summer that lasted 147 days, and a shorter autumn of only 55 days. But the past autumn was more humid than usual.
On average, Shanghai’s summer lasts 134 days, and 62 days for autumn.
