Shanghai Chest Hospital celebrates 60th anniversary
Shanghai Chest Hospital, the nation’s first leading hospital specializing in the treatment of cardiothoracic disease, celebrated its 60th anniversary today, when leading medical experts and officials were honored for their achievements in and devotion to the healthcare industry.
The hospital has broken many records. It performs over 10,000 cardiothoracic surgeries each year, ranking No.1 among all hospitals in the nation. It also fulfilled over 600 da Vinci surgeries — or robotic-assisted surgeries — in a year, the world record.
To further serve the public, the hospital has teamed up with neighborhood health centers to set up a classified chest pain and lung cancer diagnosis and treatment center.
Those identified with high risk or complicated conditions at neighborhood health centers will be quickly transferred to Shanghai Chest Hospital. It is one of the first hospitals to be honored as a China Chest Pain Center.
