Shanghai exit-entry bureau to close for systems upgrade for 3 days

The Shanghai exit-entry administration bureau will be closed from December 22 to 25 for systems upgrade, and foreigners who have applied for visas, passports or residence permits can collect their documents before December 22. 

The bureau said it was in the process of updating the exit-entry administration information system.

If the “collection date” on the receipt says “20171225” or earlier, the applicant can collect their documents between December 19 and 21.

This, however, will not apply to applicants whose application materials are incorrect or relevant documents are missing, police said.

Those who fail to collect them before December 22 can get them after December 26.

Applicants who asked for the documents to be sent to their addresses will receive them on time, police said.
