Robot starts work at city hospital
A robot started working at the outpatient department of Renji Hospital from today, giving consultations and guidance to patients.
In addition to talking to the robot for information, the service is available both online and offline. Patients can raise questions through the WeChat account and receive an answer immediately, day and night.
Renji Hospital is the first comprehensive hospital in the nation to adopt an intelligent robotic system to give interactive consultations about hospital facilities, medical services, specialists' service time and traffic directions, easing the burden on staff at the front desk and offering greater convenience to patients.
So far, the system have prepared over 6,000 inquiries based on routine questions that the inquiry desk normally receives. It can also “learn from reality”, building up questions that many patients raise to expand its answer pool.
