Peak season for flu continues

Officials advise residents to keep warm and keep their homes well ventilated.

Shanghai is still in its peak winter influenza season, according to the Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Yamagata, a Type B flu virus, is the prevalent strain in the city. But H1N1, a Type A flu virus, is also spreading, it said.

Shanghai residents are vulnerable to Yamagata, officials said, suggesting residents keep warm and maintain indoor air ventilation.
