Snow again blankets city after one day reprieve

After a short reprieve on Friday, heavy snow is again blanketing the city in snow Saturday.

By 11am, most parts of the city were covered, according to Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

Medium-to-heavy snow fell in western parts of the city in the afternoon while snow or sleet swept into downtown and eastern areas.

Qingpu District issued a yellow alert for snowstorms at 2:17pm.

Most areas will see sleet or rain tonight, while the western parts will continue to receive snow or sleet.

Tomorrow will mainly see sleet or rain and the weather is expected to turn to overcast tomorrow evening, forecasters said.
