Shanghai has established the first Internet tribunal in the city specializing in handling Internet-related civil and commercial lawsuits.

According to Changning District People's Court in Shanghai, the cases such as online trade disputes handled by the tribunal will be tried online.

Established in January, the tribunal has accepted 106 online shopping, infringement dispute lawsuits and others.

Since 2014, the district court has resolved more than 3,300 Internet-related lawsuits.

As Chinese people turn to online shopping and payment, an Internet court will provide a judicial guarantee for cyber security and resolving online disputes.

China established the first Internet court in August last year in east China's Zhejiang Province.
