A traffic police assistant was killed in an accident on the Outer Ring Road on Tuesday morning, police said.

A traffic police assistant was killed in an accident on the Outer Ring Road on Tuesday morning, police said.
The assistant was hit by a car which "suddenly lost control" when driving east to west near Xupu Bridge where he was working.
He was standing on zebra crossings at the time of the accident, and a police car parked in the same spot was also hit, police in Minhang District said.
The driver of the car has been held, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
