Swiss expat one of many foreigners volunteering over Spring Festival

Claudia Sun Gerber, from Switzerland, has been living in Shanghai for the past 12 years. She particularly enjoys the Spring Festival, which is exactly what drew her here to begin with.

This year she is acting as a volunteer in her compound in Pudong New Area, helping to make sure her neighbors are aware of the new law which bans the use of fireworks.

She enjoys voluntary work and hopes more and more children will see the benefit in working for the greater good, as opposed to just working for money.

We followed her one evening recently as she did her bit to ensure the holiday season in the Yanlord Garden housing estate is safe for all.
