Yangpu District and the Shanghai Grand Theater will join forces in renovating and developing the original Yangpu Theater into the YOUNG Theater, according to a strategic cooperation agreement signed by the two sides today.
The new YOUNG Theater will focus on the cultivation of young talented artists and cross-cultural professionals. Original theater productions will be incubated, developed and performed on its stage.
The theater is expected to open to the public next year for the 2019 Shanghai International Arts Festival. It will also become a cultural landmark in Yangpu District.
