The Shanghai Film Distribution and Exhibition Association held a film forum on Friday, where famous filmmaker Zhang Jianya and film professional Zhu Jue talked about the technical progress of Chinese cinema over the past decade.
Shanghai now hosts 320 cinemas and 1,837 film screens.
Insiders anticipate that in the near future Dolby, RealD and new LED screens will be widely used in cinemas across the city.
The second part of the forum will be held on March 23 at Wujiaochang Wanda Cinema.
