A variety of activities were held on Sunday at the Jing’an Cultural Center as part of this year’s Shanghai Citizens' Art Festival.

Flower arrangement and wallet sewing was popular with little girls and women of all ages, while children painted helmets to express their views of the world. Family groups baked cookies in the style of famous Asian cartoons like Hello Kitty and Doraemon.

A musical feast was prepared for music lovers, featuring styles from elegant Western classical string music to mysterious Oriental guqin (a Chinese plucked string instrument.)

Visitors could also bring something home if they wanted to — a fair selling seasonal flowers, DIY accessories and other items was held in the open-air square as part of the festival.
