Child ambassadors sought for city's international ballet competition

The 6th Shanghai International Ballet Competition is recruiting three child ambassadors in a competition which runs until April 23.

Children under 10 years of age can apply, as long as they have a passion for ballet, certain basic ballet skills and can participate in related activities in Shanghai during the competition from August 3 to 11. 

Those who fit the criteria can sign up on the website, the "Wenhuayun" app, or on the official WeChat account (shwenhuayun) until April 23.

There will be a first-round audition using video clips, and a second-round with on-the-spot selection. Those who make the second-round selection process will be scored by professional judges, and then be rated by both their scores and the online votes of ordinary people. 

The top three candidates will become child ambassadors, and will have the chance to participate in the event's advertising, interact with ballet masters and watch the competition live.

There will also be consolation prize winners and lucky audience members who will be invited to watch the competition live.
