Hong Kong filmmaker Shi Nan-sun to chair jury panel

Famed Hong Kong filmmaker Shi Nan-sun will be jury president of the Asian New Talent Awards at this year's Shanghai International Film Festival.

Famed Hong Kong filmmaker and producer Shi Nan-sun will be jury president of the Asian New Talent Awards at this year’s Shanghai International Film Festival.

Shi has produced many acclaimed Chinese films across different genres, such as martial arts film “New Dragon Gate Inn,” cop flick “Infernal Affairs” and fantasy “Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back.”

Last year, she received the Berlinale Camera Award at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival for her great contribution to cinema. 

Launched in 2004, the Asian New Talent Awards are an important part of the Shanghai International Film Festival. 

Over the years they have discovered and fostered many new talent in the industry, including Chinese directors Ning Hao and Gao Qunshu, and Iranian filmmaker Hassan Yektapanah.
