A group of volunteers visited the Clover Children Rehabilitation Kindergarten in Xuhui District on Thursday, teaching handcrafts and playing games with children there.

The activity was part of a public-service project organized by SAIC Shanghai Culture Square, calling for understanding and care of the autistic children.

Other activities included celebrities sharing their experience with autistic children and lectures by experts to help ordinary people understand autism better.

Shanghai Culture Square will stage “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” a story about an autistic boy, by the UK’s National Theater on May 9-20.
