Thyroid cancer has replaced breast cancer to become the most prevalent cancer for local females. Shanghai Cancer Center today offered free screenings for model volunteers.

A total of 505 people who won the title of Shanghai's "model volunteers" received free thyroid tumor screening at Shanghai Cancer Center on Saturday.
According to the Shanghai Center for Disease Control and Prevention, thyroid cancer has become the most prevalent cancer among females, making up 16.8 percent of all new female cancer cases reported.
To arouse public awareness of thyroid cancer, Shanghai Cancer Center has launched various campaigns on prevention and control and offered free screenings for over 900 model volunteers in the past two years.
