Tencent holds industry summit to discuss online content

Tencent Penguin Pictures held a summit in Shanghai yesterday, in which industry professionals discussed new opportunities and trends in online content and shared their expertise in branding, marketing and franchise development.

According to Sun Zhonghuai, CEO of Tencent Penguin Pictures, Tencent’s v.qq.com is more than just a broadcasting platform. They aim to present more interactive original shows, online video games, reading clubs and other entertainment services to cater to the diverse tastes of netizens.

By the end of February this year, the number of paying users for Tencent Penguin Pictures had reached 62.59 million.
